Adrian Peterson played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners. He was a three-time First-team All-Big 12, unanimous All-American (2004) and was runner up to the Heisman Trophy Award in 2004. He set the NCAA freshman rushing record with 1,925 rushing yards as a true freshman in 2004. He finished his college football career as the Sooners' third all-time leading rusher.
Adrian Peterson was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings with the seventh overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. Peterson was named the 2007 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year after setting a NFL record for most rushing yards in a game (296) and 1,341 rushing yards with 12 touchdowns for the entire season.
Throughout the course of his football career, Adrian Peterson has been named to seven Pro Bowls, a NFL Most Valuable Player award and has led the NFL in rushing yards on three separate occasions.
Adrian Peterson is currently a running back for the Washington Redskins but has also played for the Arizona Cardinals, New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings.
