Herbert was projected to be one of the top QBs taken in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft. ESPN draft guru had Herbert pegged as the No. 6 overall prospect in the NFL draft. Fellow draft expert Todd McShay had Herbert ranked at No. 20.
The Ducks QB completed nearly 60 percent of his passes while throwing for 2,985 yards with 28 touchdowns and 8 interceptions this season. He lead the Ducks to an 8-4 record and a birth in the Redbox Bowl against the Big 10's Michigan State Spartans.
Herbert's decision to forego the NFL Draft opens up the door for other QB prospects to rise up the rankings. Ohio State's Dwayne Haskins now likely moves into the top QB prospect slot with Missouri's Dew Lock, Duke's Daniel Jones, West Virginia's Will Grier and NC State's Ryan Finley close behind.
