Friday Featured Athlete: Josh Allen

Each Friday, Ultimate Autographs will feature one athlete that is part of the Ultimate Autographs lineup. This week's Friday Featured Athlete is Buffalo Bills starting quarterback Josh Allen.

Allen entered the NFL after two successful years at the University of Wyoming. As a two-year starter, Allen passed for over 5,000 yards and scored 56 total touchdowns (44 passing, 12 rushing). Entering the 2018 NFL Draft, the most talked about aspect of Allen's playing ability was his incredible arm strength. This combined with his other skills led the Buffalo Bills to trade up in the draft to take Allen with the seventh overall pick.

Despite a promising preseason, Allen would not start for the Buffalo Bills until their game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Allen would throw for 245 yards, a passing touchdown and added 32 rushing yards. Allen showcased his impressive throwing power in the game, completing a 57-yard pass to Zay jones that spent 64 yards in the air from the point of the throw to the catch which is the second longest distance ever recorded by NFL Next Gen Stats for a completed pass.

In Week 3, Allen led the Bills to their first victory of the season in a stunning showcase against the Minnesota Vikings. It was in this game most NFL fans witnessed Allen's rushing abilities as he hurdled Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr on a scramble to pick up a first down.

He would miss a handful of games with an elbow injury but returned with a vengeance. In his first game back, Allen led the Bills to a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars with 160 yards passing and 1 touchdown while adding on 99 yards rushing and a rushing touchdown. The very next week, Allen again had a Fantasy Football owner's dream statline with 235 yards passing and 135 yards rushing.

The Bills QB would shine again against fellow rookie Sam Darnold as Allen compiled 206 passing yards with another 101 rushing yards against the New York Jets defense. Allen became the first quarterback in NFL history to have at least 95 rushing yards over a three-week span.

Allen closed out the season with an amazing performance as he scored five total touchdowns (3 passing, 2 rushing) with 224 passing yards along with 95 rushing yards. He earned AFC's Offensive Player of the Week, becoming the first Bills quarterback to earn the award since Drew Bledsoe. Allen also became the first QB in Bills history to lead the team in both passing and rushing yards in a single season.

Allen has proven to be a playmaker for the Bills offense and has seen his stock skyrocket to close out the NFL regular season. Interested in getting your own Josh Allen autographed memorabilia? Check out all of our Josh Allen autographed sports memorabilia items currently available.
