Around the League: NFL News and Notes 3.4.19

The NFL offseason is in full swing and there's no shortage of NFL news to follow. Stay up to date with the latest happenings across the NFL with Ultimate Autographs.

Antonio Brown Could Reportedly Be Dealt This Week

Current but basically former Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown could be on the move as early as this week per NBC's Peter King. He reports there is "real competition" in the Brown trade market. The Steelers would also likely want to move "Mr. Big Chest" before March 17 when the disgruntled WR is due a $2.5 million roster bonus.

NFL Teams Using Franchise Tag on Key Players

With free agency only days away, NFL teams are locking in big-name players with the franchise tag. As we've seen with the Le'Veon Bell situation, this does not 100% guarantee the player will be active on the team. NFL teams also have some more time to get a long-term deal done to avoid the high salary hit from a franchise tag player. Here's a list of players who were assigned the franchise tag earlier today.

New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Listed as Top Teams for Le'Veon Bell

The Athletic's Connor Hughes lists the Jets, Eagles and Buccaneers as top landing spots for free agent Le'Veon Bell per his sources. A "high-profile agent" told Hughes the Jets are "undeniably the favorite" while another says the Jets are just in the mix. The Jets have been the team most have predicted Bell would join in the offseason but the Eagles and Bucs make sense as well.

Premier Defensive Stars Expected to Hit Free Agency

C.J. Mosley and Landon Collins are not expected to be hit with franchise tags by the Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants respectively. Adam Schefter posted the update on Mosley while Ian Rapoport reported the Giants aren't going to tag Collins. Mosley and Collins will undoubtedly be two of the top players in the free agent pool if they do not resign long-term deals. Adam Schefter has added that the Arizona Cardinals are the favorite to land Mosley and will make him the league's highest paid LB.
